Board of Directors Biographies
Founder and Executive Director: Sean Patterson
After working at Children Services in the Emancipation Department for several years, Sean Patterson started The 411 Foundation to address areas of unfulfilled need. Patterson believes that a few programs get children to school but do little to ensure they stay there. Recognizing that hard times come to all of us and that school is not always an option, Patterson plans on The 411 Foundation being an organization that not only helps children remain in school but also helps others return to finish their education.
Having worked for Franklin County Children Services, Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Hannah Neil Center for Children, The Buckeye Ranch and Maryhaven, Patterson has twenty (20+) years of experience working with abused, neglected, dependent and developmentally disabled children. He also has worked with young adults who had substance abuse issues and who have emancipated from custody. Patterson is a 1991 graduate of Steubenville High School and graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Specialized Studies in 1996. Patterson also obtained his Master's of Science in Criminal Justice from Tiffin University in 2007.
Patterson has displayed an empathetic understanding and genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of the young people he has worked with. Because of his lengthy career assisting youth, he brings hands-on experience tackling the myriad of issues faced by youth and the effect they have on their lives. The common threads throughout his work are focuses on building open relationships and teaching young adults how to be productive members of society while also being involved in social change efforts.
